The Winching Wench is now put in the Tank....

And here I thought my own personal house hell would be this! Picking out paint colors from Curt's ginormous box of paint colors!

As you can see I take it seriously, but really there is just so many to choose from! Curt likes neutral colors and I like, well, color.  But I digress.

What really was my personal house hell is what I did last night after work! It all looks like fun and games until I'm actually in the tank.

Because this is what awaited me!

Stupid, stupid water people did not listen to Curt and did not put the correct first filter in. So all the stuff on the roof got in the tank. Then sat there for a month and algae grew. This needed to be clean out so that our water would start out nice and clean. Fortunately I have one of the best friends in the whole world who VOLUNTEERED to help me out.

Stephanie! You rock as always! She is mighty good with a scrub brush and hose. As long as I feed her wine, she will stay hours..... It really didn't take that long. It all came off really easy. We rented a pump and sucked all the bad water out and used some bleach in the cleaning water.

Then we wiped it all down with some micro fiber towels while Curt ran back and forth to squeeze them out for us.

In the end we have a super clean tank!

Passed Curt's inspection.

But it is with much trepidation that I look in to the other ones.

However, they are not dirty, just a quick pump out of the old water and a wipe down with some bleached rags should do the trick.

Who says I never do anything fun on a week night?!

SHEETROCK!!!
And that Rocks!

Like I promised a new post quickly. The sheetrock has all been put up, mudded, sanded and primed for paint. It changes the whole look of the inside of the house!

It's all starting to go up here.

It's all up and taped and mudded here.

And I got a couple pictures tonight of it all primed. Not that you can really tell the difference from the pictures, but it's primed the color that it will be painted.

The outside of the house is pretty much done! All the window are in. The shingles are ALMOST all up. There is just a tiny bit more there under the dining room window and that should be done tomorrow. The door is being finished up soon.

Were were able to score some cedar for the facets on the outside of the house. It looks great! I love the warm color. There are still lights that go in also.

Now comes a lot of picking out of finishes. I've been working on that. Right now I'm looking at this tile and marble for the master bath. It's really hard to get the colors to come out right on the camera.

And the small bathroom will have this.

Not the mosaic part though....

I've still not decided on the kitchen yet, but will nail that down soon. The appliances have all been ordered and the cabinet guys are working on bids. So hopefully we will be in by OCTOBER!! I'm really hoping so since most of the time Curt seems to look like this. He really is burning it at both ends right now.

Pippin however has a new pair of work boots and could go on through winter......

Tomorrow I shall be climbing in the first water tank to get it all cleaned out and ready to fill. That should prove to be good for some great pictures.......I'm really thinking child labor would be better and have thought of calling the nieces.

One Giant Catch Up Post!!

I know! I've not updated the blog, but seriously, it's just been tons of little stuff going on. It's hard to figure out what is actually post worthy.

So here is a lot of little snippets of whats been getting finished!

One day I had to grind around the bottom of the house to get the concrete smooth and then paint it. It was a messy job but kinda satisfying in a way.

And of course as usual Pip always wants in on the action!

This is what we use for paper at the house, a lot of days notes are left on card board, wood, leftover sheet rock. What ever is available.

The plumbing is pretty much finished up now, HOW in the world this turns into a toilet I'll probably find out later. Right now, I'm just scratching my head.

Same goes for this bucket, apparently it's a bathtub drain.

Our water filtration system is all in.

Electrical panel is all in and so is all the wiring.

These are the water tubes that connect to the boiler to heat the floor!

The water tanks are all getting hooked up and ready to fill with water. We had to of course find a new water guy. The first one really did not know what he was doing. Very frustrating! We can watch the tanks fill up pretty fast. One good day of rain and they are half full!

And all the insulation has been added.

So now we are on to sheet rock! I'll have an update on that soon!
